How does the treatment work?
If you are not coming to us with an acute complaint, your first visit is a detailed, thorough assessment that starts with a panoramic X-ray. If you already have an X-ray that is less than six months old, please email it to us before your appointment.
What happens during the assessment?
Beyond examining your teeth we also look at the jaw joint, carry out an oral cancer screening, evaluate how your bite comes together and talk through every question you may have. We then take photo documentation so we can draw up the most accurate treatment plan possible.
Using a dedicated intraoral camera we make any changes visible to you as well — decay, tartar or gum inflammation, for instance. Where useful we take impressions of both arches to document your starting point; the models allow for an even more precise plan.
How long does it take?
Precise work needs time, so we set aside 60 minutes for the assessment. Your personalised treatment plan is then built around the findings and around your own needs and wishes, in strict accordance with professional guidelines.
With an acute complaint the priority is to help as quickly as possible, so we aim to carry out the necessary treatment already at the first visit.
