About this treatment
During root canal treatment the canals are cleaned both mechanically and chemically. Thanks to our modern instruments and anaesthetic protocols, these treatments are typically painless.
Where there is inflammation we begin with preparatory treatment — medication, for example — and continue the therapy once it has subsided. We work with a rotary system that includes built-in canal-length measurement, ensuring a precise root filling.
When is it needed?
Root canal treatment is most often needed when decay reaches the pulp chamber, or when the tooth dies following trauma. Chronic inflammation such as a cyst or a granuloma can also be treated successfully this way.
After treatment we place medication in the canal and, once you are free of symptoms, complete the definitive root filling, which we verify with an X-ray. The final restoration of the tooth follows.
