A crown is a laboratory-made restoration bonded onto a prepared tooth, returning its natural shape and function. A crown may be needed when decay or injury has damaged the tooth so extensively that a composite filling or an inlay is no longer enough. It can also be necessary after root canal treatment, when the tooth is structurally weaker.
Bridges replace missing teeth with the help of the neighbouring teeth or implants, restoring optimal chewing and speech.
Metal-free crowns and bridges
Our dentists work with the most modern metal-free materials, such as pressed ceramic and zirconium dioxide. These allow the colour, edge translucency and shape of a crown or bridge to resemble natural teeth almost indistinguishably. Zirconia is particularly suited to extensive restorations and bridges, being exceptionally precise, strong and stable.

Preparation
Under local anaesthesia the tooth is prepared, with constant attention to removing only as much material as is genuinely necessary.
Temporary crown
A temporary crown is placed on the prepared core, protecting the tooth until the definitive restoration is ready.
Impression
Our team takes an impression for the final crown or bridge.
Try-in and fitting of the final restoration
Our dentists try in the restoration made by the technicians and check that it meets expectations both aesthetically and functionally. Once you are entirely happy with the result, it is fixed in place with a special adhesive cement.
